Please telegraph whether, in circumstances of
his case and in view of, though not necessarily under terms
of, Articles, Civil Service Regulations, and Army Regulations,
India, mentioned, you would have condoned interruption of
service if he had joined Indian Police from disbanded
regiment Indian Army. I observe that in case of men who
joined 5th Bengal Infantry and were permitted to count Hong
Kong service, interruption of more than five months waS
condoned.
